Tayupan Falls, Sicao

One of our favorite trekking spots is at Sicao Village in Calinan, Davao City. The area offers a lot of mountain climbing, river trekkings, and mostly chasing waterfalls activities. One of our favorites is the Sicao Falls exploration.

When we first visited Sicao Village, we only knew of the famous Sicao and Tres Marias falls. It was just then we were told that there are a lot of falls in the area worthy of exploration.

Oops! Dead End.

Falls exploration is definitely not for beginners. Unless you are willing to get lost in the wilderness and then go back to the same trail you've been to, and then get lost again on another trail - not knowing what you will encounter while walking - may it be a dead-end or even snakes.

After some roots climbing, finally we have reached the river. Now here comes the river trekking and rock climbing part.

In order to have a better view of the falls, we did some rock climbing as we cannot cross the river because of the strong current.

Tayupan Falls did not fail us. It was indeed one of the best falls in the area.

We got scared with its greenish water though - a sign that the natural pool is very deep. So instead, we decided to take a dip on its river before heading back.

And just the same with the other waterfalls in the area, the water from Tayupan falls is very clear that we had some to drink.

We would like to thank also our 2 dogs - Black and White who accompanied us with our waterfalls exploration.

And of course, the visit to Sicao Village will not be complete without a beautiful view of Mt. Talomo!
